Andrew Crick

Director

Andrew started his career in groundworks in 1984 where he worked for small local company learning his trade.

In 1995 Andrew joined the Tamdown Group where he started as a groundworker and then progressed quickly to the position of site manager running some of the biggest housing developments in the Essex area.

Overtime Andrew continued his personal growth where he again experienced further progression with being made up to the position of Contracts Manager where he managed multi-million pound contracts such as Olympic swimming pools and training facilities, schools to large concrete frames along with large multi-phased housing developments.

Finally, Andrew became Construction Director overseeing the Infrastructure division, where he would successfully deliver projects on programme and to a very high standard.

Matt Weeks

Director

Matt started his career in 1991 with a national house builder where he spent 4 years working for David Wilson Homes. From there he then spent a further 4 years with Barratt Homes as a Quantity Surveyor with both Businesses.

In 1999 he made the move to the contracting side of the Construction Industry where he joined the Tamdown Group. In his 18 years of service he rose through the ranks taking the roles of Commercial Director, Estimating Director and Managing Director of their Concrete Frames Division.

Matt’s particular skill set evolves around his commercial acumen, whether it be the optimisation of cut and fill exercises through 3D ground modelling to value engineering schemes, he has a particular passion around getting the best value for his clients on their proposed schemes.

John Crick

Director

John started his career at the same time as his brother Andrew at the same local company gaining his on the job experience in Groundworks.

In 1995 John also joined the Tamdown Group where, he too started as a groundworker. Much like Andrew his progression in the business was swift and his talent was recognised, John was soon handed the responsibility for running and delivering his own schemes.

Further advancement in the business followed over time where John was made up to Contracts Manager, Construction Director and then Managing Director of the Civils & Infrastructure side of the business.

John takes great pride in the finished product that he returns back to his Clients and his attention to detail is second to none.

Chris Ellis

Commercial Manager

Chris started his career in 2003 with the Tamdown Group as a Construction Buyer, transferring across to the Estimating Department 4 years later, where he worked his way up internally to Director of Estimating. 

Chris came to join Centaur Construction in February 2020 as Commercial Manager, and works along side Matt in all commercial aspects of our projects, from Value Engineering at tender stage through to budget management for our customers at the delivery stage. 

Chris is well known in the industry, and respected for his straight forward approach, honesty and old school values.

Kelly Smith

Head of Finance

Kelly has over 20 years’ financial experience within the construction industry and is a Chartered Accountant, joining Centaur as Head of Finance in January 2022.

 

Kelly was previously Group Financial Controller at Nexus Infrastructure plc. Kelly started her career in 1999 within the Nexus group of companies in the Finance department as a Wages Assistant, where she progressed her way to be the Group Financial Controller.

 

Kelly’s role is to manage the business finances and ensure effective financial management is in place.

Oliver Page

Site

Engineer

Having studied Mechanical Engineering at University in 2015, Oliver began his career with the Tamdown Group as a Assistant Site Engineer in 2016. Learning from well respected Engineers, Oliver began looking after his own sites in 2017 and then made the move to Centaur having cut his teeth across a diverse group of projects.

 

Oliver despite his young age has experience in Roads, Deep Drainage, RC Frames and Traditional Builds priding himself on quality assurance with as built surveys and CAD drawings. A keen follower of the latest technology and techniques within the industry he is always looking for new ways to optimise delivery of our projects.
